Hi...I am sure that this is a subject that affects many people...Due to stress/adrenal fatigue which led to me going into hospital with "adrenal exhaustion", i was put on Zoplicone to help me sleep. Alas, my brain is now getting used to it and needs more. Therefore, i want to come it but that is easy said than done. Is there a protocol that you could recommend to me, and all other people like me, on how to wean off sleeping pills ? How should i do it i.e. cut the dose gradually or skip a day etc and are there supplements that you could recommend that could help me to sleep to offset the sleeping pill...i just need my life back and wish i had never been on the sleeping pills in the first place. Appreciate your help on this matter...

Monteith,

First question....were the sleeping pills to help you fall asleep or to keep you asleep?

If they are to help you fall asleep? Your body is over-excited and isn't allowing your inhibitory brain messengers to balance out all the stimulation you are getting.

If it is you can't stay asleep? Meaning you fall asleep with NO problem, but wake up and can't fall back asleep? If that's the case it is also an adrenal problem, that includes a blood sugar problem or blood sugar imbalance.

Both cases need adrenal support. Start out with Adrenal Fuel....BUT you also need the Neuro Calm to help calm and relax your body and mind.

I've talked extensively about this in various articles and have written about in on the Blog....Do a search on my Blog and read the articles and you will find your answers.....just remember you have to rebalance the chemical imbalance as you try to start weaning yourself off the drug.

Blessings,

Dr. Len
