how can soy products be allergy related?

i've given up all dairy to nail down my acne problem, but since it's limited to my jawline area, i know it's hormone induced.

can "too much" soy be a causation/correlation of hormone changes? i don't think that gluten could really be a contributor to acne. while i believe foods can be correlated, i don't believe they're causation related. hmm.

i've tried birth control, every facial soap possible, and every method possible and nothing, nothing worked!

Dr. Len, i'm ready to end this acne once and for all! i'm interested in the IRS protocol!! i'm celebrating my 25th birthday next month and would do anything just to have clear skin like I should have!! :( it'd be so encouraging for me since i'm a fitness trainer and holistic health counselor to be able to prove that my own life can change in this way.

I've often read that....
It's possible that your body is reacting to soy, as you mentioned. Isoflavones in soy are estrogen-like compounds, and thus may have hormonal effects on the body such as acne and changes in the menstrual cycle. However, negative effects are usually temporary, but the health benefits of soy last a lifetime.

What do you think? I drink about 4 cups of soymilk a day.

tokyogirl,

You have to get off the soy, especially if it is unfermented like soy milk!

Soy can definitely throw your hormones off, especially your thyroid hormones....as far as food elimination...YOU have to TAKE them ALL out at the same time...otherwise it is a waste of time....and you get Terrible results as to whether or not soy or any of the other common food allergens are responsible.

Give that I try. If you were in my office and you told me you did that elimination diet I would tell you....that you did NOTHING to help eliminate or Identify any possible food allergen.

And Absolutely, Positively....food allergens will cause skin issues, especially acne...because all of the terrible absorption problems it will cause...it will create toxins inside that get eliminated through the skin.

Hope that helps....If you are a trainer, and consume extra protein....you need to use rice or pea protein....or even raw milk....works the best.

Blessings,

Dr. Len
